Hi, I’m Cassie
I’m a trauma-informed yoga teacher, yoga therapist and registered psychotherapist (qualifying) living on the traditional, unceded territory of the Sinixt, the Ktunaxa, and the Sylix people, in a beautiful mountain known as Nelson, British Columbia. I am originally from the maritimes, and lived in Ottawa, Ontario for 15 years before moving West.
Since 2018, I’ve been working with adult survivors of a variety of traumas including sexual assault, human trafficking, relationship abuse, and child abuse, which can manifest as complex posttraumatic stress disorder (C-PTSD), relationship challenges, anxiety, depression, chronic pain, etc. I believe that everyone can heal with the right supports and resources, and I am grateful to witness and walk with people in this process.
Yoga has been a companion in my own personal healing process for the last 14 years, and I’ve been able to pass along what I’ve learned through my teaching for the last 8. Witnessing the remarkable healing that yoga can facilitate for the whole mind-body system inspired me to become a yoga therapist to directly facilitate this process for individuals and small groups.
I became a psychotherapist to support my clients by integrating somatic (body/nervous system) work with mental healthcare. I specialize in holistic treatment which considers a clients physical, energetic, mental, emotional and spiritual needs in the trauma recovery process. The healing journey can be challenging and messy. I offer a warm and nonjudgemental space to navigate this process with curiosity, compassion, and sometimes, humour. You don’t have to experience this alone.
Accompanying my clinical work, I also offer therapeutic yoga retreats designed to be a companion to the healing journey. Retreats are an opportunity to step out of the day-to-day and immerse yourself in dedicated yoga practice, self-reflection, community, and nature.
If you’d like to learn more about how my services may be able to support you, please book a free consultation call.
Consultation calls are typically 15 minutes in length and can be a video call or regular telephone call. They’re an opportunity to let me know more about what you’re looking for support with, and a chance to ask me any questions you may have.
